Workout fail

Okay, I am going to spit out a bunch of excuses why I didnt go work out today. Just let me get them out. Today is the first day of classes at ISU, and I was stressed about the idiots I work with. We built a couple of classes last week and if we didnt pass inspection today at 8:00 we were screwed. We passes, but I didnt sleep well thinking about it. Also the lack of communication in Meridian is a joke. It puts me in bad mood. I was prepared for it but still worried about it, and for good reason too. The moment I got here the freaking morons that work with me needed to be slapped.
I couldn't find my gd sports bra, and I was to tired to get my ass out of bed. There. Those are all my excuses.
Tomorrow is another day. A better one!

Shuffle to the left

I have been getting over a cold this week, so I opted out of the working out. But I do plan on starting Monday. This semester my hours will be a little different. All that means is, I have to get my tush out of bed a little earlier to make it to the gym. So I decided to give myself some incentive. I have an ipod nano. The old kind, and I love it, but it is a little cumbersome at the gym. So I am going to be purchasing a ipod shuffle. You can just clip those little suckers right on to your shirt and be done with it. I will admit that in the past, I just stuck my nano in my bra. So sometimes I would be worried about it getting to sweaty. Because I am not a little dainty gym girl. I break a sweat and I LIKE IT! So I figured what better way to start off my new year's goals with a cute new toy!

Just blab

Well I do want to make more post on this blog, just because I think it will make me more honest about my goals. I am back in Meridian after the Christmas break, and I must admit although seeing everybody was amazing, especially BFFN and BFFH I am glad to be back. I kind of feel like 2011 might be my year. I am not sure where the optimism came from, but I just figured why not.
I have posted on here about Bountiful Baskets. I was sad that when I moved that would mean no more baskets for me. They do have an awesome farmers market and co-op here, so I thought I would be good, but I really did miss my Saturday special treat. So when BFFH called me to tell me they have a site in Meridian, I was so excited. I am not sure how easy it is going to be to get a basket, but hopefully not too bad. There is one in Nampa I can get too if I need. I have not yet ventured over to that city yet, so It might be an adventure. Also on black Friday I got a crock pot for 10 bucks. So I am looking up veg recipes for that. So if any of you have any ideas, send them my way.

Happy New Year!

Okay, its not officially the new year yet, however I wanted to get my goals down before the start of the new year. You know, kinda like best foot forward and all that. And since this is a health blog, all my goals on this blog are going to be about health. I know I know. How cliche. But 2010 was an okay health year, and I want to make 2011 and awesome health year.
So at the end of this year I fell of the vegetarian wagon, and fell hard. It was a health scare in July that did it. But I still believe that vegetarian is the healthiest way of living, also the 11 pounds I put back on proves the fact. I just felt better both physically and emotionally. I however didnt educate myself on the proper care of my body and unfortunately went down hard. I know some of you might think, well how healthy is vegetarianism if you have to take something else in order to stay healthy. Well to you I say, that any doctor recommends talking a daily vitamin, for women we need to start taking calcium in our 30s to prevent bone loss. All I need to take extra is a vitamin B12. Which I didn't before.
So my first new year's goal is to get back to my veggie ways, and hopefully by the end of 2011 be a full time vegan.
My second goal is to run a half marathon. Okay sounds far fetched even to me. But I have always wanted to do it. And I might as well give it a try. So I figured I would start off slow and maybe do a couple 5ks this year, running, and then do a big one in 2012, like the mesa marathon. But as the rule says, you gotta walk before you can run, so I figured this is a goal that can continue and continue every year and maybe someday I will get a full marathon in.
My third goal is to quit soda. This one is not that tricky. I am not a big soda drinker, but I when I come home my mom always always has soda, and Its hard to resist. Also sometimes when I go through a fast food place and they only have soda. Even though I never finish the drink, I still partake.
Which brings me to my fourth goal. NO MORE FAST FOOD! Not only is it super fattening but I makes my wallet shrink. 5/6 bucks 3 or 4 times a week really adds up! So I am going to bring my mini fridge and microwave to work and start packing again.
Also working out 5 days a week is my 5th goal. That is a big goal since I am going back to school again this semester. But I am determined, and since my gym rocks, there is no excuse. And as part of my workout goal, I want to get real good at zumba. The one time I tried it, It was fun and I giggled half of the time, and the other half I felt foolish. So I want to get good.
Any health related goals for you ladies this year?
I hope you 2011 year is awesome and healthy. Talk to you soon!

The Vegan Life

Vegan full time?
I have been feeling like crap lately. Emotionally and spiritually. What are the chances that I get this Vegan thing to stick? I think since I am away from home and away from the temptation, it might just work. This means of course that Aunt Tam wont be happy. Only because the concept freaks her out and she thinks I will starve.
So after Christmas.....

Soul Cleansing

So for about a year and a half I was doing some soul cleansing. I was a hard core vegetarian, I was working out. I was finding out who I was and who I wanted to be, and then like a switch was flicked I went back to my old ways.
I could blame it on the anemia, or the uprooting of my whole life, or the fact that I now had two babies in less than a year that I wouldn't get to see very often or missing my friends. And I do. It was all that. I felt and I still kind of feel like I just got out of touch with reality. A day doesn't go by when I question if I made the right decision to come here. But If I came back, what would I be coming back to? In life, you cant go back. You can only move forward and since I am coming up on my 5 month anniversary. Its time to move forward.

Long Time No See

Or do. I hate that I can get distracted from my goals so easily. Oh get Anemic and feel like you are going to die? Or move to another city, or hate work. You know the routine. But I have decided to put myself on top. So I am going to give myself 6 months starting January 3rd to turn my life around. What that means though is I get up at 6am for the gym because I have class at 9 and work at 11. So I am going to be super busy but that is cool because I do my best work in madness.
Wish me luck! Do you fine ladies have any new years goals?

Beeping Alarm!

Today for the first time in forever, I woke up to my alarm. I am one of those people who can wake up by themselves on time. My sister also has the talent yet she is always late? Anyway I still set an alarm because I am paranoid. Today was a good reason to have that annoying little beep in my ear.
I dragged myself to the gym this morning still digging sleep out of my eyes as I entered the building. It took me a while to find my groove, but I found it. Got a good sweat going. And in the end isn't that what I am doing this for?????

Zumba

So on Saturday me and my roommate went to Zumba for both our first times. Let me tell you.... it was a bit comical. We were 2 of three people in the class. Of that I was grateful. It seriously kicked my ass. It was awesome. I mean I totally sucked, but I burned some major calories and sweated hardcore, and even giggles at times.
I guess I am a glutton for punishment because we are going to make it a regular thing on Saturdays. I might even try to make it on Fridays after work. Its a good thing to switch it up you don't get bored. Thats what I have to keep telling myself anyway.
