I have been pushing myself hard at the gym, and have finally found a play list I think I can live with. I think the thing that I have been struggling most with is the late night eating. I am working on it though and making sure I get my water in too.
Sundays the gym is closed so I was thinking what I could do. Going for a walk is g
reat, but its getting cold and winter winds do not appeal to me. So I thought I would try Yoga. I found myself a beginning yoga dvd and today was my first day. I know it sounds corny, but I like it a lot. After a hard week and before another hard week its good to get some grounding. I am not going to lie, some of the poses are a challenge but I think yoga is less about making sure you do every pose and making sure the ones you can do are right. I am pretty sure I am not going to be doing hand stands anytime soon.Anyway I have a wish list, I want some kitchen aids to help in my journey. This is a wish list for me to buy, it am not posting it here as a gentle nudge to tell my mom or Santa. Maybe if you could give me some recommendations regarding these items, that would be more helpful.
Kitchen wish list:
Food processor
Food dehydrator
Juicer
Blender(the kind that can cut through steal, ok maybe not.... but a heavy duty one)
Go yoga. I don't think I'm flexible enough for it and all that bending would probably make me toot - for real. Maybe when you move to the next level I can borrow your beginner tape and watch Brett do it. He's fairly flexible - he used to be a diver you know, but trust me you don't want to see him in a speedo - yikes!! Remember on friends when Chandler's roommate dehydrates everything - even a cantelope - you should try that if you've been good this year and get one from the Santa man.
ReplyDeleteI agree a speedo even on a really hot guy is a bad idea. I had no idea he used to be a diver! Hot! Yeah, you are probably the least flexible person I know? It gives me the chuckles! I could probably get a dehydrator for cheap, and I will probably try to throw in some crazy stuff.
ReplyDeleteI really like my magic bullet blender, it is the Canadian version but it still works. I will watch for those things, Steve is really good at finding deals. I dried zucchini this year and made chips, Janet was the only one that would eat them, not even my mom could lie to me and tell me that they were good. I think that you should look it to a water aerobics class, it was a good workout, and still easy on the body, I don't know if that makes sense. ISU should have a class, if not I can teach you the basics but the problem would be a lack of pool. I don't know anything about yoga, but I would love to try it with you some day.
ReplyDeletefrom darby =) ~just a help for the late night eating (cuz i like to do this too) is - when you feel a munchie craving - brush your teeth. serious - it really works. i luv my fresh smelling breath and glistening teeth and the last thing i want to do is mess them up with food. so then the only thing you want is a drink of water.
ReplyDeleteThanks ladies for the awesome ideas! Darby awesome idea, it is too much of an effort to brush again after the food. Heidi is the magic bullet heavy duty? I mean like could it chop up nuts and dates?
ReplyDeleteI think that it can chop nuts, I will check it out and let you know.
