I think I totally offended the gym lady today. I always just do my business and don't talk to anybody. Rude....? Maybe but I am not there to socialize, plus the other ladies that are working out are old enough to be my grandma, so what do we talk about Frank Sinatra? So anyway she tells me she is "so glad to see me" That's nice, but I am paying to be there and work out not for a social hour. I always notice her watching me, and as soon as the earbuds come out she is talking to me. I am freaking paying to work out, so I pretty much told her that.
Maybe there will be a time when I feel confident enough to go to a "regular" gym and won't have to deal, but I guess until then I will be sweatin with the oldies.
If it weren't for older women I'd be a hermit!! I really like getting out of the house by myself and a lot of times the only excuse is some kind of Relief Society function. Most of the women are at least twice my age, but we get along. Maybe that lady is just lonely for a chit chat, but it would be hard to talk and walk/run at the same time. Give her a couple of minutes while you stretch or something like that and then get back to your musica!
ReplyDeleteI know, I could have been more kind, that is a good idea maybe I will just talk to her when I come in while I am putting on my shoes.
ReplyDeletefrom darby =)
ReplyDeletemaybe she could have been your workout buddy - the one that you can make yourself think is counting on you to be there for her motivation and that helps motivate you as well. kinda like not wanting to be late for work makes you get up and get moving!
I really like Darby's comment, good thought
ReplyDeleteShe is the owner of curves and she seems more interested in talking than working out. Plus they had a grand re-opening the other day and she served cookies and cake! Some people!
ReplyDeletethat is so weird
